A humorous meme circulating lately proposes 2021 starting in February because, based on 2020, January 2021 was on a 30-day trial basis. LOL
Now that we’re well into 2021, can we talk New Year’s Resolutions? Let’s skip the usual resolutions people make and consider these resolutions instead:
Plan a vacation for the fall now. The “experts” believe that the pandemic will be well under control (if not gone) by fall. Get ahead of the crowd on booking flights and hotels. Some sites like Airbnb are offering discounts for early booking, just make sure to check their cancellation policy before booking. Planning now will give you something to look forward to as well as giving you something pleasurable to do now.
Celebrate the spring holidays. Break the monotony of winter by celebrating the typical: Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, etc. as well as the unusual: Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (February 6) and Hoodie-Hoo Day (February 20). Check out a complete list of major, minor, and obscure holidays.
Make the most of these dreary winter days with family fun such as: game nights, themed suppers complete with food, décor and music, breakfast for supper, ice cream buffet with a big variety of toppings, or a dance party!
Get everyone in the family to help compile a written list of enjoyable things to do when spring arrives. Get it in writing, post it in a visible place and be sure to check off items as they are accomplished. Making plans for better-weather activities is an enjoyable thing to do now. Doing them later will be even better!
