Summer’s almost here and there’s so much to do in the surrounding area to enjoy! Whether you enjoy art, music, food or crafts, there’s plenty of fun for adults and families. Summer is a great time to get outdoors and meet up with friends and family. Here’s a short list of a variety of the lesser known attractions in and around the Louisville area:

Waterfront Park, Louisville, KY. This music festival has become so large that there are now four different stages on 85 acres. It includes great food and local crafts as well!
Shakespeare in the Park
This year Shakespeare in the Park will be performing free shows in parks throughout the Louisville area, not just Central Park. This troupe of actors is incredibly talented, performing Julius Caesar, Richard II, and Much Ado about Nothing. Check the link for the full schedule and dates.
Mayberry Days: June 16th-18th

They have fine art, fine craft and crafts exhibitors, and 5 food booths. There will be Roving Performers with Local talent and the following music, Old-time. This event will also include: games, contests, cane pole fishing, golf scramble, and farm to table dinner.
2017 Bluegrass Roots and Branches Festival: July 21-24th
Yellow Creek Park, Owensboro, KY. Just a short drive from Louisville, but a lot of fun, music and food! Great day trip!
Summer Movie Night at Iroquois
Nothing says “summer” like an outdoor movie! Iroquois Amphitheatre is sponsoring free movies once a month on Saturdays and once a week on Mondays. There are other events like CirqueLouis and concerts. Click on the link for a full list of the movies and events.
Any of these activities are a great way to entertain clients or network with co-workers. Of course, the local farmer’s markets around town are also a great way to bring in the summer while picking up some fresh, local produce. Summit Executive Suites wishes everyone a fun and safe summer!
